Girls also love to play dress up. If she's seriously in to fairy princesses this year get her a little outfit that she can parade around in with a wand and perhaps a crown - she'll feel like the princess she is in no time. There are loads of little outfits out there from her favourite cartoon hero, to her ultimate girly fantasy - and don't forget a pair of grown up little fluffy or sparkly heels are always a winner. If she's a little older, and you should always ask for the parents' consent here, you could get her a little makeup set - they love to emulate their mums and having their own fun makeup will make them feel all grown up.

Learning doesn't have to be boring, in fact educational gifts always go down a treat - and it's not only the kids but the parents who'll love you too. All kids love games - whether they're board games or games they can play outside. Games are an especially good gift suggestion if there's more than one kid in the family. Little girls love to play make believe. They want to emulate their parents, their older siblings and even what they see on TV. They love playing "house" or going to "work" by playing with their doctor or chef sets. From their pretend ovens, to their tiny grow your own garden sets, and doctors' medical bags the kids will be in their own little fantasy world for hours at a time.
